Money tips
- UPI works almost everywhere, including most shacks, taxis and market stalls; keep some cash for small vendors, ferries and tips.
- ATMs are easy to find in Panjim, Mapusa, Margao, Calangute and Candolim, but scarcer around Arambol, Agonda and Palolem.
- Room rates jump sharply from about 20 December to 2 January and over long weekends; November and February give the best value in season.
- Most sights charge little or nothing; boat trips, water sports and clubs are priced per person, so agree what is included before paying.
